Being healthy requires you to stay fit – physically, emotionally, and mentally. But don’t worry. With healthy diet and of course, proper exercise, it is not that difficult to achieve and maintain a healthy body.

Exercise is actually classified into three basic kinds:

  • Aerobic Exercise
  • Strength Conditioning
  • Flexibility Training

The aerobic exercise is usually performed to improve your cardiovascular ability. Performing this exercise increases the blood flow to your heart, and therefore, also increases the supply of oxygen in your body.

Strength conditioning, which is known for giving a person the “to-die-for” six-pack abs and hard muscles, is in truth a corrective form of exercise. Doing this exercise does not only strengthen your muscles, but also corrects cholesterol levels and smoothens your metabolism.

Lastly, the flexibility training, also called stretching, is a protective exercise. It is usually performed before a strenuous activity. It prevents physical injury by relaxing your body before and after an intense activity.

Exercising is also known to have emotional and mental benefits such as the following:

  • It calms the nerves and mind.
  • It allows the body to emit chemicals that improve mood.
  • Exercising can also make you feel less self-conscious and more confident.
